In the best of centers in the US, less than 5% of US adults participate in clinical trials and there are many clinical trials competing for these patients. However, the situation in India is different. India has a vast number of cancer patients.
We, at Triesta, offer clinical trials to all patients in the remote parts of the India. Our hospitals offer standard services in these remote parts. We have no difficulty in recruiting patients due to our highly experienced/dedicated and enthusiastic investigators and good track record. We ensure trial conduct under strict GCP compliance. Every site has a process based system. Every site has a team of medical and non-medical coordinators. The Quality and training team is central.
The main centers or HUBS are in the metropolitan cities and are the TIER-I centers for patient recruitment.
The peripheral centers or SPOKES are in other cities (TIER-II) and remote areas (TIER-III), to allow maximum number of patients to participate in the trials.
We encourage referrals from Spokes into the Hubs for clinical research. We encourage the entire team of the oncologists to be co-investigators in all research activities to bring about transparency in research, increase patient recruitment and gain valuable inputs for the patients enrolled.
The subjects who enter our studies volunteer their time, trust and well-being. These individuals care little about our recruitment deadline, our company’s portfolio, or our desire to impact a specific indication. Their desperate need for help motivates them. Sometimes they are looking for a breakthrough to extend their lives; other times, they just want to feel better day-to-day, or not to have to worry about where they will get medical care this month. At Triesta, we understand and respect this.
